Abstract

It is often to deal with patients who lost permanent molars or had hopeless permanent molars requiring orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic space closure by protracting posterior teeth can be an excellent treatment option without dental implants. We report the cases of orthodontic spaces closures of extraction sites by protraction of maxillary molars in various ages. The orthodontic closures of extraction spaces by maxillary molars protractions were done with skeletal anchorage devices and selected force systems. Careful evaluations of anatomic conditions and using of proper biomechanics should be considered for successful results.
